I am so sorry about the passing of Danny. He was such a sweet and kind soul. I will never forget taking him to Walmart to go shopping. He knew right where everything was and had a smile on his face the whole time. I also enjoyed our breakfast date with him and Tom. Tom please know that I am thinking about you in this time of sorrow. Many prayers for you and your family. Rest In Peace Danny.

Danny truly was a fixture on the Rapid City landscape, I got to know him when I worked at Newberry’s downtown. He always came in to see what was new in the toy department. In years following, he never forgot who I was and always greeted me with his friendly smile. What a great guy! So sorry to hear of his passing.

Dan always had a smile! What a grand gift he had for making others happy. I imagine your folks and Darwin are rejoicing to see him again in Heaven. My sympathy to all of you.

I too am an alumni member of the RC boys club, joined in 1964/1965 at the old train Depot, the next RC boys club opened in 1965 in a brand new building southeast of the 6th Street bridge, which was in the 1972 flood! but yes I knew Danny Westin & Tome Westin, we all grew up north of the railroad tracks! Dan was just another one of the boys, never realizing or noticed that he had mental disabilities, fond memories of Dan, I did see him many times over the years riding his bike! Rest In Peace, Dan, you deserve peace and tranquility!
