Dorothy F. MorganRAPID CITY – Dorothy Florence Morgan (Wollensack) died peacefully at Rapid City Regional Hospital on September 28, 2016 at the age of 84. As the seventh of eight children, Dorothy was born September 23, 1932 in Rapid City to Noah and Angela Wollensack. She attended high school in Newcastle, WY and New Underwood, SD. In 1949 Dorothy met Burl Morgan and they married August 5, 1950. The couple welcomed their two sons, Dennis in 1951 and Bruce in 1954. After her husband completed his service with the US Army, the family settled permanently in Rapid City.Over the years, Dorothy held several jobs, some of which included; the Herford Store, Black Hills Packing Plant, CP Clair, and JC Penney. Additionally, she loved caring for children and the elderly, which she often referred to as “grandma sitting”. She was very proud of designing and building their house, but especially fond of making it a home. It was filled with all of her pretty things and evidence of her love of sewing, crocheting afghans and embroidery. Most of all she enjoyed visiting with others and sharing stories with her amazing ability to remember every detail.Dorothy was exceptionally caring and thoughtful and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband Burl; sons Dennis and Bruce Morgan; sister Donna (Bob) Gossard, brother Alvin (Janice) Morehouse; grandchildren Mara (Mark) Hansen, Aron (Carey) Morgan, Carisa (Jack) Knox, Tyler (Blake) Morgan, Molly (Michael) Hugdahl and seven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters Martha Behrent, Irma Slocum, Violet Groves, Norma Hurd and brother Lloyd Morehouse.
