Obituary For Elenor Elaine Rhodes
Elenor (Dolly) Elaine Rhodes passed away quietly in her sleep on Aug. 6, 2026.
She was the daughter of Winifred and Clarence Haskell. Elenor was born March 6, 1931, here in Rapid City.
She lived most of her life here in Rapid City. Here is where she met and married her first love Lawrence Taylor in 1947. In these 36 years of marriage, they had 4 children.
Elenor’s first love passed away in 1983, and she went on to live alone with the support of her children.
Years later, she met her second love and later married Gerald (Red) Rhodes in 2002. In that time, they enjoyed fishing, dancing, and traveling.
Elenor was preceded in death by her first husband, her parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald, her children Caralee (Bill) Lewis, Linda (David) Rockfield, Larry (Lois) Taylor, Sandra (Gene) Bingham, and her stepchildren, Kathy (Kelvin) Lower, David (Charlene) Rhodes.
Elenor had 15 grandchildren, plus a number of nieces and nephews.
Burial for her will be at a later date for the family only, at her request.
