I miss Faye terribly. She was such a sweet lady, always had a smile warm welcome when she saw me. I was one of her “girls. You couldn’t help but love her back. I miss that. She was a special lady.

Ms. Faye and I have been friends for almost 11 years. We met at Canyon Lake Activity Center, where we both worked the bingo activity. Faye also played, of course, and seemed to have a lucky streak about her. We bonded instantly. One thing that was always so important to her was that she have her hair and nails done at the beauty shop before she arrived. Since I was a retired hair stylist, that was always an important subject to discuss...if the color was correct, how was the curl and style, what about the red she wore on her nails - too flashy or just right? We had a great discussion about it every week. Ms. Faye ALWAYS greeted you with a big smile and a hug. She had a very special way about her that made you feel good when in her company. Once Covid arrived, I didn't get to see her as often as I'd like, but we kept in touch by telephone, or Gene would drop her by so she could buy Football books. She love to gamble with our (Canyon Lake Activity Center) Football pools. I would send her our monthly Newsletter with a note and ,of course, she would always follow up with a phone call. I will miss her deeply, but will never forget her. I have her picture at my desk at work, so I can look at her smile when I need to.
