Bruce, I am so sorry for your loss. You are in my prayers, my friend. I met your mom just a time or two. She was very nice. You will rejoice with her in heaven. She is awaiting your arrival with open arms.

Growing up, most people had a grandma and a grandpa. Not me. I had a grandma and an Aunt Helen. It's actually a little amazing how old I was when I found out not everyone had an Aunt Helen.... And I was sad for them. For so many years now I've been planning to bring my husband to meet her.... But between dogs and planes and work, it just never quite worked out. And now that it's too late, I can't imagine why we couldn't make the time. I love you Aunt Helen. More then I ever let you know.

How can you remember a lifetime in a moment? I'm sure there was every kind of moment over the course of a lifetime, and Helen lived them all. May you treasure the woman, just as she was, and the relationship you each had, with all its ups and downs, twists and turns. May you have a heart of gratitude for the higher power who journeyed with her no matter where she went, and may that same higher power also journey with you no matter where your journey yet takes you. Helen, rest in peace. Your journey in our world has ended, and your eternal journey stretches before you in a joy and peace that none of us can yet even imagine.

Helen was always so kind and welcoming. I fondly remember her picking Andrea and me up from school when we were in middle school and taking us on little adventures. She was such a lovely woman!
