Service Date January 29, 2008

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at the New Underwood High School Gymnasium with Rev. Harold Delbridge officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Rapid City. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday, January 28, 2008 at Behrens-Wilson Funeral Home.

Jack D. Tines, 66, Owanka, fought a courageous battle with cancer and gracefully went to heaven on January 26, 2008 while holding the hand of his wife, Pat.Jack was born in April of 1941 to Johnny and Natalie Tines of Elm Springs, SD. He lived a very full life filled with family and friends.Jack married Bonnie McLaughlin in July of 1961. They raised a family of 5 children in Wasta, SD. He joined the Wasta Fire Department in 1969 and has served as fire chief for many of those years. Jack had a great love for animals which lead him to the Buckaroos and Saddle Tramps of which he is still a member of today. Jack proudly built the 2 chuck wagons for the Saddle Tramps and we can not forget the many family wagon rides that Jack and Pat attended.Jack was a great man of integrity and took great pride in his family and work. He was employed by L.G. Everist in 1967 who later sold to Birdsall Sand and Gravel. He continued to work for them until his retirement in 2004.In 1992, Jack and Pat were married. They lived in Owanka, SD where they spent most of their time renovating and restoring wagons, buildings and their home.He is survived by his wife, Pat, Owanka; 7 children, Tina Kok, TX, Dede (Myron) Stahl, Doland, Jim Tines, Elm Springs, Tom (Patsy) Tines, Wasta, Kristi (Stan) Cihak, TX, Scott Schmit, SC, Todd (Cathy) Schmit, Washington, DC; 14 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; his mother, Natalie Termes; 2 sisters., Joan (Ronnie) Racicky, Kay Williamson all of New Underwood; a brother, Cary (Pam) Tines, Elm Springs and many nieces, nephews and special friends.He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Tines and first wife, Bonnie McLaughlin. Jack will be missed dearly by all those whose life he touched.
