Karen Lea Townsend, 76 of Rapid City, SD passed away on May 15, 2021. She was born on November 26, 1944 in Ohio to Robert and Cynthia (Barnum) Townsend.
She was known as a woman of grace, poise, love and later in life as a healer.
She attended WA State College (WSU) as a talented Ballroom Dancer which led to one of the four marriage proposals that year. She accepted one from Ralph Smithers who was from Toronto Ontario. They were married and had two children, Michel Blake and Martin Smithers (deceased in 2003).
