To my Beautiful Compassionate Aunt Kay, I remember family picnics by St. Mary's Cemetery on Pine Ridge Reservation. Playing in the river, then we would all go to her younger sister Caroline home that was up the road next to Cheyanne River, who passed long before. Aunt Kay and her sister my Great-Grandmother Bernice Maggard would tell all of us kids the stories of them walking miles to school. All their life experiences. I remember Aunt Kay being a fierce loving, Kind and gentle woman. She had many hurdles and even when she could no longer see. It did not stop her. She was one of kind. Truly. I think about you Aunt Kay and I miss you. I promise I will pass on the stories you shared with me down to my little ones. You will always be close to my heart and the bright light when we think of you and you will always be loved and missed forever. Love ❤️ Samantha Maggard: Great-Grand Niece
