Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Behrens-Wilson Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m., Friday, October 19, 2018 at the funeral home with Rev. Julie Norwood officiating.  Interment will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery with full military honors.

Louie Oyler, Rapid City, died Friday, October 12, 2018 at his home at the age of 95.  Louie was born June 10, 1923 in White River, SD to Henry and Millie (Petr) Oyler.  Louie later moved to Rapid City and enlisted in the US Army.  Upon discharge his brother John Oyler met Louie at the bus station and asked him if he would like a job in construction.  Louie was the last known survivor that rode in the first Sturgis Motorcycle Rally at the age of 17.  Elaine shared his love of motorcycles and they rode his on their honeymoon. . . and the rest is history.

Louie met and married the love of his life, Elaine in 1946 and they had seven children; Randy (Effie) Oyler, Arizona; Wanda Allen, Georgia; Kathy Work, Rapid City; Connie Barnes, Georgia; Mark (Tana) Oyler, Montana; LuAnne (Dean) Potts, Rapid City and Ronald (Mary) Oyler, Texas.

Louie was preceded in death by his loving wife Elaine, his seven brothers, one sister, one grandson and two great grandsons.  He is survived by his seven children, two sisters, 36 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and he loved all of them dearly.
