Memorial services will be on Thursday, July 6, 2017, at 10 am at The First United Methodist Church in Rapid City, SD with Pastor Greg Kroger officiating. Burial will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD.

In Lieu of flowers, the family asks you to make a donation to the Rochester Cancer Research Center in memory of Lynn.

Lynn Carol Tarter, 69, of Rapid City, SD passed away surronded by her loving family on June 28, 2017. She was born on May 27, 1948 to Theodore Wiedrich and Floreine (Beck) in Eureka, SD.

Throughout her life, Lynn moved around quite often as her father would change locations for his work. The family decided to settle down in Rapid City. Lynn attended high school in Rapid City. While in high school, she attended the National College of Business. When she graduated from high school, she also graduated from college with her associates’ degree. While in Rapid City, she met Kendall Tarter at the skating rink. The two fell in love and later married on March 25, 1967. Together they had their son, Brett.

Lynn had many hobbies. She loved to spend time with her family, going camping, gardening, making floral arrangments, and making blankets as a seamstress. Lynn was a wonderful mother, wife, and a very devoted Christian. Lynn belonged to Mccabe United Methodist Church in Bismark, ND. She would spend her time volunteering as a Sunday school teacher. Lynn always enjoyed being around all of the children.

She is survived by her husband, Kendall of 50 years; son Brett; three brothers, Robert (Ann) Wiedrich, Rapid City, Dan (Lori) Wiedrich, Grand Junction, CO, Kirby (Vicki) Wiedrich, Rapid City; one sister, Rosanne Rennell, Gillette, WY; In laws, Jodie (Teena) Tech, and David (Janet) Tech, both of El Reno, OK.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and grandparents.
