Service Date April 9, 2007

Interment will be Monday, April 9, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery in Rapid City, S.D. Graveside services will be held at that time. All relatives and friends of Margaret are invited to attend. Following will be a Celebration of Life for Margaret at the Grace United Methodist Church, 10060 Foothill Dr. in Piedmont, S.D., with everyone welcome. Use I-90 Exit 46 and the service road on the west side north to Foothills Dr. and the church. Behrens-Wilson Funeral Home, Rapid City is in care of the arrangements. A memorial service will be held at Quartzite, Arizona for the families and many friends from Arizona and California.

Margaret Ella (Pengra) Ball, 93, died Monday April 2, 2007 at Mesa General Hospital, Mesa, Arizona during her pacemaker replacement surgery.Margaret was born June 25, 1913 at Buffalo Gap, South Dakota, a daughter of Charles F. and Ella Margaret Pengra. The Charles Pengra family moved from Wisconsin in 1909 to Buffalo Gap. Margaret had six siblings; five brothers and one sister, Lee Edwin, Ray F., Charles B., Donald J., Marshall H., and Janet (Pengra) Foss all now deceased.She graduated from the Rapid City High School with the class of 1933. She married Melvin (Mel) Ball in Redfield, South Dakota on November 30, 1934. They had one daughter, Gale Orrine Ball. Margaret was a member of the Blythe, California Intaglios Chapter, National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution.Mel and Margaret Ball were long time residents of Piedmont, South Dakota before moving permanently to Quartzite, Arizona.Survivors include husband Melvin Ball, daughter Gale (Ball) Klein Goosen of Quartzite, two grandsons, Peter Klein (Julie), and David Goosen of Escondido, California. Great grandchildren include Army W/O Peter Klein (Sarah) of Ft. Riley, Kansas, Steve Klein, Amie Klein, and two step great granddaughters, Amanda and Jennifer Coleman of Escondido, California, and many nieces and nephews in South Dakota.Condolences may be sent to Melvin Ball and Gale Goosen, P0 Box 3805, Quartzite, Arizona 85389, telephone is 928-927-7414 or Gale at 928-927-4889.
