Marlin LeRoy Dummer, 80, Rapid City, died Thursday, July 14, 2016 at home.Marlin was born July 18, 1935 in Spencer, NE to Herman and Lena (Dvork) Dummer. He grew up in Spencer graduating from Naper, NE High School in 1953.Marlin entered the US Army on March 9, 1954. He was stationed at Okinawa, Japan and was honorably discharged on February 29, 1956.He returned to farm with his father near Herrick, SD. On June 6, 1959, Marlin married Zelda Fischer in Colome, SD. They farmed in Herrick for 5 years when they then rented a farm NE of Gregory, SD for 5 years. They purchased a farm SW of Dallas, SD where they lived until retiring to Rapid City in 1996.Marlin worked at Dan’s Super Market, Rapid City.He is survived by his wife, Zelda, Rapid City, a daughter, Pamala (Rodney) Baumgartner, Gillette, WY, a son, Dudley Dummer(Tim Kenny), Chaska, MN; 2 brothers, Harvey(Kathy) and Willard Dummer; 5 sisters, Nola Ulmer, Carol Wentz, Dorothy Hermann, Pat VanHouten and Doris Olson.He was preceded in death by a brother, DeWane Dummer.
