Funeral services will be on Friday, December 30, 2022 at 2:00 p.m., at Bridled for Christ Cowboy Church in New Underwood.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services.  Burial will follow services at the New Underwood Cemetery.

Marvin Ray Rask of New Underwood, SD passed away on December 19, 2022.

Marvin was born in Scottsbluff, NE on May 11, 1948, to parents, Neils and Leona Rask.

Marvin spent his younger years in the Scottsbluff area growing up with a ranch life background.  He joined the Army, served 10 years and fought in the Vietnam War, in which he was wounded and received the Purple Heart honor.  When he returned to the states, he pursued his interests in autobody mechanics, race cars, horse shoeing, and hunting.

In 1978, Marvin met Karen Cline (they married December 21, 1984) with whom he spent the rest of his life with.  This union included two daughters, Kim and Misty.  In the early 1980’s, Marvin and his family spent countless hours at the Black Hills Speedway, where he and his pit crew enjoyed working on his car for each race.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Karen Rask; Daughters, Kim (Keith) Karp and Misty LaBelle; Grandchildren, Steven, Shyler, Santana, Slater, Sheldon, and Sinch Karp and Chris and Miranda Cline; Great-Grandchildren, Kaden and Arianah Karp; Daughters from a previous marriage, Kimberley Wells and Tina Pryor; and Sister, Rhonda Leedham.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Neils and Leona Rask; Sister, Vicki McCune; Brother, Michael Rask; and Son-in-Law, Troy LaBelle.
