Eternal rest to Ralph and peace to the family. Ralph was the true cowboy cousin--fitting every image of the Western SD rancher. I fondly recall the grand tour of the Badlands with Ralph in his truck as he took me and my Dad on the lesser-known roads, about 1962-63, through that beautiful spot. (My Dad always loved the Badlands.) Sympathy and love, Peg O'Dea and John Lippert western

I just saw this obituary on Facebook and want to send my condolences to you all. It has been many years since I have seen any of you "kids", except recently we saw Wayne at the Rapid City Soccer Fields and had a short but nice visit. I sat with Rhonda at Fern Hill's funeral almost 14 years ago--easy to remember as on that day (July 24th) my oldest grandson was born just as the funeral was ending--another family member leaving us but a new one joining us that day. I am glad for you all that you had Ralph for so many years but you must be feeling very very sad today. But, no doubt, you have many good memories. Again, my condolences to you all.

I hope you all know how much you are in my thoughts right now. Countless memories come and go…From mom having us play “tricks” on Ralph at Halloween (soap on the car and pickup windows), to making him a Winnie-the-Pooh cake on the 28th (mom probably thought the “Pooh” part was funny) to brandings, to New Years Eve card parties, or just to come by to visit…I can’t imagine having grown up without Ralph and Vernita and all of you in our lives. I could always remember your mom’s birthday because it was the same as Elvis’ and Ralph’s because it was the same as Auntie Fern’s. We’re all really lucky to have had the dads we did; as ornery as they could be at times when we didn’t get a cow or a calf we were supposed to, they sure knew what kindness, friendship, and family meant. And, they never hid from Wadsie…that would’ve been our moms 😂. My heart goes out to all of you. May Ralph’s memory be a blessing.

My sister called to let me know that my cousin, Ralph White died on the 7th of January. It has been many, many years since I last saw him. I do have fond memories of spending time with his family when I was in grade school and high school. Sympathy to his family and do cherish the good times and the good memories. Cousin, Mary O'Dea Runyon Leawood, KS
