Rufus and I served together in Japan; we retired from service on the exact same day. Even as a young NCO, he was admired for his leadership and powerfully positive impact. His personality made him someone everybody always loved being around. To his family and close friends, I wish you eventual comfort and extend my sincere sympathy on Rufus' passing - you are in my prayers. With Respect, VINCENT L. HOWARD Command Chief Master Sergeant (USAF, ret)

Rufus was truly an inspiration to me. He accomplished so much in a dignified and loving manner. He was a true and cherished friend to my family at Victory Chapel Church. He was also a true and faithful servant. My heart is broken as Rufus will be missed by all who knew him.

I met Holton in the fifth grade at Westend elementary school. He was a great friend I'm gonna miss even though we lost contact over the years. I still remember the great times we had in school and as an adult after high school. My prayers are with his family and love ones. Your friend for life.

This hits hard. From 7th grade to 12th we were tight..After high-school we lost touch but the spirit of brotherhood didn't fade. I will always appreciate the advice you gave to me in high school..R.I.P Brother "Holt"
