I appreciated Russell stopping by the ranch to visit Mom and Dad and in Wasta to visit our Mom. Russell, with his Mom and Dad would stop by the ranch and visit. Just part of the family. God Bless Kathi Deering

Dear Family of Russell, What a guy your father was!! My dad and Russell were great friends and I have known Russell all of my life. I will always smile when I think of the stories those two guys could tell! I am sure no one knows the half of it, if the truth be told, and we probably do not want to know! After dad passed away Russel always stopped by the store to visit me. I really appreciated that. He will be missed! My sympathy to you all! Rhonda

A long time ago Rapid City had a livestock auction. After we showed our calves at Western Junior Livestock Show, we sold the fats through that auction barn. Every auctioneer from the Hills area came and donated their services. All the greats were there--Rinehart, Hale, McFarland, many I can't think of just now--and of course Russell. If I remember correctly part of his chant was, "Bottom of the hay." Thanks to him and the others, we had our calves sold by professionals.

When he had to give up riding the horses, he mastered the rascal, and you had better get out of his way.
