Obituary For Sandra Kay Thornburg
Sandra Kay Thornburg, age 72, of Rapid City passed away on July 17, 2026 in Rapid City SD.
Sandy was born in Grayson, Texas on January 19, 1954. She married Regis Thornburg on November 27, 1972 in Durant, OK. The Thornburgs planted their roots in Rapid City where they had their only son, Bryan Thornburg.
Sandy loved working as waitress/bartender at multiple places throughout her life. She later went into pet grooming where she found her true love with animals and did that untill she retired.
Sandy was the most kind hearted, fierce loving, biggest giver, deepest caring, always there for you no matter what, always positive, best friend anyone could ever ask for. She was so strong willed and biggest hearted person. She was so strong and the amount of pain and suffering that she had endured and gone through day after day for the last 7 years was more than anyone could ever bare. Just know that she left this world sleeping peacefully. We know she is surrounded with all your fur babies, and everyone she loved up there in heaven. She made so many friends everywhere she went and people always just fell in love with her. She did so much for so many even when she couldn't handle the pain and that says so much about who she was.
Sandy is survived by her son Bryan Thornburg, her daughter in law Shar Thornburg, her grandson Victor Enriquez, and her brother Jeff White.
Sandy is preceded in death by her father Donald Arnold, her mother Rayetta White, her sister Donna DeVuyst, and her many fur babies she loved and adored.
The family will not be having any services per Sandy's request. She will be cremated and kept with the family.

Bet Sorry to read about your mother. I got to meet her once down at Jackson Uncle Sam's. She seemed like a nice person. And if she brought you up, that's even ten fold.

Sandy had the biggest heart of anyone in knew. She always had a beautiful smile for everyone regardless of her pain. It was an honor to have known her for so may years. Sandy touched so many lives and will be forever missed but not for gotten. So sorry for your loss.
