Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at First Presbyterian Church in Sturgis, SD with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Burial at Black Hills National Cemetery will follow services.

Verla Ann Marti, age 90, joined her heavenly Father on July 20, 2023. Verla was born November 7, 1932, along with her twin brother, Vernon, to Lawrence and Laura (Alderson) Cochran in Fruitdale, SD. She grew up on a ranch near Deep Creek.
Verla married Cecil (Gene) Marti on January 12, 1952. Together they raised four children: Bonnie, Don, Lloyd and Carol.
Verla lived life to the fullest enjoying five grandkids, thirteen great grandkids, and three great great grandkids.
Gene and Verla liked to play cards, go dancing and camping. In Verla’s spare time she enjoyed gardening, crocheting, embroidering, and reading. You could always find a cup of coffee and great music in the background when stopping by for a visit.
Verla is survived by daughters, Bonnie Oliver, Carol (Jim) Dillavou; son, Don (Roxi) Marti; daughter-in-law, Cathy Marti; grandsons, Trent (Teresa) Sheeder, Justin (Desiree) Dillavou, Corey (Bria) Dillavou; granddaughters, Joni (Dean) Burgess, Abbie (Austin) Barber; great grandchildren, Jade (Dylan) Liswig, Spencer Sheeder, Tessa Sheeder (Joe), Aubrianna, Caleigh, Camarae Dillavou, Adison, Kinsey, Makenna Dillavou, Alexandra, Gabriel, Isabelle and Sydney Burgess; great great grandchildren, Oliver (Ollie) Graff, Shadow Liswig, and Sabastian (Bash) Sheeder.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gene Marti; son, Lloyd Marti; parents, Lawrence and Laura Cochran; son-in-law, Dan Oliver; and all of her brothers and sisters.
