Obituary For Vicki Lou Holmstrom

Vicki Lou Holmstrom, 74, of Rapid City, South Dakota, passed away on July 3, 2026. She was born on June 9, 1952, in St. Cloud, Minnesota, to Shirley and Burleigh Cruser.

Vicki was the heart of our family. She will be remembered for her love of a good book, her quick wit, and the sarcastic humor that could make those around her laugh. She was funny, stubborn, loving, and unapologetically herself.

She shared 46 wonderful years with her husband, Kenneth Holmstrom of Rosholt SD, and some of their happiest moments were simply spent together—laughing, being silly, and enjoying each other’s company. She loved her family deeply and cherished the lifelong bond she shared with her younger sister, Cindy. More than anything, she loved her grandchildren. They were the light of her life, and being their grandma brought her immeasurable joy. She loved fiercely, laughed often, and left those who knew her with a lifetime of cherished memories.

Vicki is survived by her husband of 46 years, Kenneth Holmstrom; her younger sister, Cindy; her children; her grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends whose lives were brighter because she was in them.

A Rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Rapid City.

Though our hearts are broken, we will forever cherish her laughter, her love, and the joy she brought to our lives. She will be missed more than words can say.

Sonny and family, I am sorry this is late. I just found out that Vicki had passed a few days ago. I worked with her at Ace Hardware in Rapid City for many years. I knew from our conversations that her family was the most important thing in her life! She was truly one of a kind and one of my favorite people! She had an exceptional work ethic and a devotion to her job that was second to none. She led by example and became a friend to all she worked with and took a genuine interest in people and their lives. She will be greatly missed by everyone who had the privilege of calling her "family" or "friend"! Larry Sietsema
