Keith M. Reed Sr died Saturday April 22, 2006 at his home in Rapid City surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren. During his lifetime he worked in the Lead Mine, drove truck for Farrier Red Owl, Midwest Coast Trucking, Nash Finch and finally Metz Bakery. His passion after retirement was tinkering in his garage repairing family cars. He didn’t think twice about going to Central High parking lot and checking his grandchildren’s cars for odometer readings and oil levels. If the oil was low, or there were too many miles driven, or the car was dirty, a note was left on the windshield to see him after school. He was social at the Hardees and Walmart coffee shops on a daily basis. Recently when he was not able to be active, he enjoyed watching the antics of his cat and the neighborhood squirrels and birds.
