Obituary For Adeline Owens

Adeline Marion (Berg) Owens, 85, Rapid City died Sunday March 25, 2007 at Golden Livingcenter Meadowbrook. Adeline was born Oct. 15, 1921 to Mens O. and Anna (Helmer) Berg in Marble Township Sargent County, ND. She attended local schools. She married Ernest G. Kohoutek of Lidgerwood, ND in 1941. From this union there were two children; Charles and Carol Jean. The family lived in California until 1951, when Adeline and Ernie divorced. Adeline remarried in 1955 to George Azar. For the next twenty years, she worked for Purity Grocery Stores. She retired after twenty years and they ran a number of their own businesses. George died in 1972. Adeline remarried in 1974 to George Owens. They were both retired and she started to have medical problems. George passed away in 1994. Adeline moved to Rapid City with her son Charles and his wife Andrea. They cared for her for nine years before she was transferred to a convalescent home in Rapid City, SD until her death. She is preceded in death by her father, mother, two sisters, Hazel and Lillian, brothers Mens Jr and Orville and three husbands. Adeline is survived by her two children, seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
