Obituary For Anna M. Vollmer

Anna ‘Annie’ M. Vollmer, 86, Rapid City, died Thursday Nov. 30, 2006 at Fountain Springs Healthcare. Annie was born on a farm north of Murdo, SD on April 11, 1920. As a small child she moved with her family to a farm south of Belvidere in Washabaugh County. She attended a country school south of Belvidere graduating from the eighth grade. She married Jacob Vollmer on May 17, 1939. They farmed in Mellette County until moving to a farm near Kennebec, where they lived until 1984. At that time they discontinued farming and moved to Rapid City, due to Jake’s poor health. To this union was born five sons and two daughters. Annie is survived by six children, John (Linda) Vollmer, Salem, OR; Dorthy (Richard) Bechtold, Rapid City; Gladys (Delmar) Swanson, Phoenix, AZ; Garold (Sandy) Vollmer, Rapid City; Lloyd Vollmer, Pierre and Kelvin (Ginger) Vollmer, Piedmont; 15 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren and 4 sisters, Emmie (Vester) Dillon, Bremerton, WA; Irene Greenwalt, Spearfish; Lucile Klaudt, Mitchell and Clara Helm, Lewiston, ID. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jake; 1 son, Virgil; 2 great great grandchildren; her parents John and Mary (Wannamaker) Krogman; 4 brothers and 5 sisters
