Obituary For Aric Jay Schweppe
Aric Jay Schweppe born July 24th, 1974, of Rapid City, SD passed away January 18th, 2024. Aric was born in Owatonna, MN to Jack and Bambi (Kos) Schweppe. He was baptized August 18th, 1974, and was later confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran in Claremont May 7th, 1989. Aric and Mary (Barta) Cummins were married and moved to South Dakota in December of 1992. Together they had three children, Jack (31), Ashley (30), and Cordell (25). While both went on to re-marry, they remained in touch as friends and co-parents. Aric later married his wife Bettina/Tina (Coates) in August of 2019.
Aric was a simple man that loved to have fun and be outdoors. With his friends and family, you could find him camping, fishing, boating, snowmobiling and wheel’n. In his spare time, he had volunteered at the Rockerville Fire Department. Aric was a man of many trades and could fix just about anything. He was always the go-to man for his friends and family. He would help you with absolutely anything for a 12-pack and some good company to share it with.
He had a wide array of jobs that included working on the family hog farm, running a turkey barn, operating large machinery, working a feed lot, construction, building log homes, hauling bees and buffalo in a semi, and being a garbage man at Kieffer Sanitation. His most recent job was with Black Hills Rubble Management as an equipment operator.
Aric was very outgoing and had a lot of charm and charisma, his wife Tina always called him her chatty Kathy. There wasn’t a single person he couldn’t make friends with. He will be missed by all.
Aric is survived by wife Bettina (Coates) Schweppe; Mary (Barta) Cummins, mother of children; children Jack and Anita (Jones) Schweppe, Ashley Schweppe, Cordell Schweppe, unborn granddaughter Wrenley Schweppe; parents Phillip and Bambi (Kos) Schweppe; siblings Amie (Schweppe) and Patrick Rose, Nathaniel and Leah (Paulsen) Schweppe, Joshua and Jennifer (Sandmeier) Schweppe; and Grandfather Gale Kos. Aric was preceded in death by father, Jack Schweppe; grandparents Jim and Mary Schweppe; and Grandmother Shirlee Kos.
