Obituary For Audrey Schieferstein

Audrey Schieferstein, 91, Rapid City died Saturday April 7, 2007 at her residence. Audrey was born Oct. 30, 1915 in Kremlin, MT to Norbert and Myrtle (Jephcott) Dekenchove. She was raised on the family homestead and lived for a short time in Canada. She moved to Rapid City in 1933 and graduated from Rapid City High School.She married Carl Schieferstein in 1945. Audrey worked as a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell and then was a bookkeeper for Tri-State Milling Company for 30 + years and Hubbard Milling until her retirement in 1978. Audrey was very active in bowling and enjoyed time with family and friends. She had a heart of gold, making many lifelong friends through her generosity and she was very caring and fun loving. She will be greatly missed. Audrey is survived by her daughter Judith Martin; grandson David Martin, both of Rapid City and brother Norbert DeKenchove, Boise ID. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Schieferstein, April 18, 1992; her parents and her first husband Bob Ross in 1988.
