Obituary For Berniece Quest
Berniece R. Quest, 76 of Rapid City died Sunday, May 18, 2014 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. Berniece was born on Christmas day in 1937 to Orville and Cordelia (Blakley) Vines. She married James Quest on October 6, 1953 in Ft. Collins, CO. She enjoyed her life as a military wife, where she was able to travel and live in places such as Iceland, Guam, and Texas, finally ending up at Ellsworth Air Force Base, where James retired. They remained in the area where they ran Sunshine Auto Repair together for over 30 years. Berniece was an active member in the Box Elder City Council, even acting as Mayor for a time. She spent her summers at the Black Hills Speedway down in the pits where she cheered for both of her sons who were racers for many years. She liked camping and fishing and spending time with her family. She loved to shop, especially for shoes and enjoyed spending time on the computer researching her family history. Berniece was preceded in death by her son, Randall L. Quest (September 11, 2005) as well as two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her husband, James L Quest; a son, Daniel (Janet) Quest; a daughter, Pamela (Pat) Kinsella all of Rapid City; 9 grandchildren; 22 great-grand children and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
