Obituary For Beverly Ann Abels

Beverly Ann Strawn-Naramore Abels, Custer,was born July 23, 1941 in Cushing, OK. Beverly died at Rapid City Regional hospital on July 28, 2017. She was 76 years old. She married Jon Abels on November 19, 1960 in Wichita, KS. The BEST deal he ever made!!! She is survived by her beloved husband Jon Abels (of 56 years), daughters-Suzannah Lloyd (Bub), Joannah Tornow (Derek), grandchildren-Robert B. Lloyd (Amy), Samantha Tornow, Jon E. Lloyd (Monica), Ali Tornow, Theodore Tornow, and Kylie Ann Tornow, 3 great grandchildren-Robert and Jackson Lloyd and Cody Tornow, and a half-sister Daann Piglowski. Beverly was an active member of her community in Custer. She and Jon established and facilitated 17 years of Southern Hills Friends of the NRA annual banquets. They held the first banquet for western South Dakota. Together they raised a tremendous amount of money to fund firearm safety education. She was also a member of the National Republican Women’s Committee. Mom loved her husband and children and grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her greatest enjoyment was surrounding herself with her family and friends, and she and Jon never met a stranger as they loved to talk with every person that they met. She will be sorely missed.
