Obituary For Bobby 'Buff' Don Buffington
Bob Buffington, 77, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2014, at Rapid City (SD) Regional Hospital.Bobby Don "Bob" Buffington, son of Don and Irene Buffington was born March 11, 1937, in Custer, SD, where he spent his childhood, attended Custer schools and subsequently graduated from Hill City (SD) High School. Bob joined the US Army National Guard, where he attained the rank of Captain.Bob worked in the lumber & logging industries for a number of years eventually owning his own businesses. Bob went on to work for Kerr McGee at Shirley Basin Mine and subsequently retired from Jacobs Ranch Mine in Wyoming.Bob is survived by his wife, Ronda; sons, Ty, Robert “Buzz,“ Donald “Duck“ (Jit), John (Robin) Buffington, and Jason (Julie) Jahrig; daughters, Donna (Bill) Burns, Debra Morris, Penny (Scott) Murray, Carmen (Jason) Simon, and Heather Temich; 24 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Beverly (Ed) Kiesling; brother, Gary (Kathy) Buffington; and numerous nieces, nephews cousins.Bob was preceded in death by his dad (step-mother); mother (step-father); brother, Mick; sister, Bettie Stiles; infant brother; wife, Jean (Dutcher) Buffington; daughter, Cheryl Varner; grandson, Calib Carlson; and numerous aunts & uncles.
