I'm very good friends with Fran (one of Bonnie's daughters.) When Bonnie came to visit Fran in Santa Cruz many times they would come to Pacific Grove for a visit. We would go on many adventures together. One in particular that stands out to me was the visit to the Carmel Mission. Father Sarah is buried there and in the church is his wooden coffin. Bonnie marched right up and knocked on it and in a very loud voice (because she was hard of hearing) said "Well, do you think he's really in there?" A few people were in the church praying and most looked up. Then she said in the same loud voice "well, I guess not" It struck me very funny. She had a curiosity for life, a great sense of humor and was also very bright which she kept on the download. I will miss her visits, playing cards till the wee hours of the morning, her sense of humor and just talking with her. Wherever she is I'm sure she is entertaining many!!

Bonnie was a wonderful volunteer in our community for years! She donated hundreds of hours, volunteering for several non profits such as Meals on Wheels, Volunteers of America-Mommy's Closet, RSVP, and Pennington County Housing. Not only was she an outstanding volunteer, she was one of the nicest people I have ever met. She selflessly helped anywhere she could and will be missed for a very long time. My sincere condolences to her family.
