Obituary For Brandon Dean Myers

Brandon Dean Myers, 14, was called to heaven on December 22, 2013, at Rapid City Regional Hospital. He was born January 22, 1999 in Rapid City, South Dakota. He attended Douglas Schools since Kindergarten and looked forward to going through all 13 years as a Douglas student. Brandon was very active in sports and enjoyed being part of a team. Brandon played basketball, football and track He was also a member of the Saturday Rockers Bowling League and was truly becoming an excellent and competitive bowler. Brandon became a member of the ROTC through Douglas High School during his freshman year, which is something that hehad looked forward to for years. He often spoke of joining the armed forces, but was undecided as to which branch he would serve in: Brandon was very involved and excited to be a member of the First Christian Youth Group, and always looked forward to the Wednesday Youth Group meetings. Brandon was a very honest, helpful, considerate, kind and loving person. Everyone who knew him could see the glow within him. He touched many lives and had many friends. We were all blessed to have shared his life. He was called to heaven before we would have wanted him to go, but there is a new angel in heaven and we know we will see him again. He is survived by his mother Connie Gednalske and step-father Brad Gednalske of Box Elder, his father, Dory Myers and step mother Ana Myers of Sioux Falls, brother Chase Derby, Box Elder and sister [anely Myers, Sioux Falls. His grandparents Ken and Carolyn McClain, Rapid City, Dean and Kathy Winsel, Rapid City, Ronald Myers, Belle Fourche, Donald Gednalske, Box Elder, and Berri and Roger Peterson of Geneseo, II., Antonio Mejia and Alba Castillo, EI Salvador and many more aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family. He was preceded in death by his baby brother Trenton Gednalske, and brother Dory Dean Myers Jr. (DJ) and his great-grandparents.
