Obituary For Caroline Mary Feuillerat
Caroline M. Feuillerat, 89, of Rapid City, SD, passed away on February 3, 2026, after a brief illness. She was born December 28, 1936, in Foxholm, ND to Herman and Geraldine Schmitz, the youngest of 7. She grew up in Kenmare, ND, graduating from high school in Kenmare and going on to St. Francis School of Nursing in Minot, ND to graduate in 1958.
On October 13, 1958, Caroline was united in marriage to Arther (Art) Feuillerat. They were blessed with daughter Margie and son to follow, Mike, after they settled in Rapid City. Carol was able to stay home and enjoy raising her children. With her nurturing and giving heart, she was able to return to nursing in 1980 at St. Johns McNamara Hospital, eventually moving to the new facility in Rapid City Regional Hospital on its completion. During her years of service, she touched many lives and made many lasting friends and comforted many souls.
In 2000, she retired initially from nursing but with her energy and love for interaction with people, she returned to nursing in 2002 continuing to work until retiring again in 2015.
Caroline loved people and enjoyed dancing, playing cards, learning to quilt, going on bus trips to see the United States, as well as spending time with her family. Holidays were one of her favorites and she always wanted all of her kids and family together. She was always busy with an activity with the Lions Club, the Minneluzahan Senior Center or the Eye foundation.
Caroline was a generous, kind and a giving soul, always with a smile and a hug. Grateful to have shared her life are daughter Margie (Mike) Burns, son Michael (LeAnn Nelson) Feuillerat, all of Rapid City, grandchildren, Samantha (Nick) Carlson, Harrisburg, SD, Sean (Christina Georgas) Burns, Las Vegas, NV, Steven Burns, Harrisburg, SD, and Scott (Jana) Feuillerat, Rapid City, SD.
