Christy Larson, 60, of Hill City, SD, passed away on April 19th, 2026 in Monument Health of Rapid City, SD.

Christy was born in Hettinger, ND to Gene and Doris (Klein) Landphere on December 21st, 1965. She graduated from Bison High School. Christy had worked in many places in Hill City, dedicating many years of hard work to Krull’s Market and to her most recent job at the Beef Jerky Outlet. She adored her coworkers and regarded them all as very good friends. She loved to work and keep busy and the store gave her not only a job, but a place to look forward to.

Christy is survived by her children; Debbie (Jared) Mahon, Roxi Larson and JJ (Aubrey) Larson. Her grandchildren; Codi Mahon and Greyson Faulkner. Her sisters; Tina (Dave) Skjoldal, Susan (Dennis) Hulm and Brother Norman (Gloria) Landphere. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.

Christy is preceded in death by; her parents Gene and Doris Landphere, her brother Robert Landphere and her sister Norma Halbert.

Christy took immense pride in her beautiful family and cherished her children and grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family more than anything. Christy especially loved facetiming her grandchildren and watching them grow. Her daughters made her dream come true and took her to Myrtle Beach, which she was so proud of and loved to talk about. She always enjoyed visits from her son JJ, which would always include their favorite movies and foods. She also loved taking walks with her dog Tucker, spending time with her roommate Denise, putting together puzzles, watching her favorite shows and talking to her family whenever she could. Christy loved Hill City and the community that surrounded her. Her friends and family were so very important to her, but she was also such a light in their lives as well. Between her laugh, her smile, her hard work and everything else that just made Christy her wonderful self; she was a beautiful soul who will be incredibly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held July 17th, 2026 at the Hill City Senior Center from 2pm to 5pm.
