Obituary For Clayton Nick Buttke
Clayton Buttke, 84, Rapid City, SD went home to join his beloved wife Joan in Heaven, Wednesday, April 8 at Fountain Springs Community. Clayton was born on November 28, 1930 in Sibley, IA to Robert and Martha Buttke. After completing school and working the family farm until he was of legal age he joined the US Navy and proudly served our country during the Korean Conflict. After the military he married Ardith (Joan) Onken and they began their family. They raised three children in Rapid City SD and in 1981 they moved to Taft, California where he proudly served his church in many capacities, including congregational president and treasurer. Clayton moved back to Rapid City with his care giver, daughter Kendra, in 2007. Clayton was the finest example of a true gentleman and was a hard-working man who always put his family first. Clayton is survived by his three children Kendra Lambert of Rapid City, SD, Anita Walsh (Matt) Wayne, MI, and Randy Buttke (Heather) Vallejo, CA, his brother Larry Buttke (Kathleen) Taft, CA, three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers and sister, two beloved nephews, and the love of his life, (Ardith) Joan.
