Obituary For Clifton James Davis
Clifton James Davis, 27, was born in Rapid City to Berlinda (Provencial) and David Davis. He is Lakota and en enrolled member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe. He graduated from Jefferson High School in Rapid City in 2006. Clifton was a gifted artist who designed many tattoos including his own after many years of sketching and drawing. Many who knew him said his art was one of a kind. He was also gifted in creating sculptures from found objects. He was very athletic and stayed in great physical condition. He especially liked to hike ‘M Hill’ in Rapid City. One of his favorite pastimes was to spend time with his brother Dustin and friends playing chess, hacky sack, skateboarding, disc golf and juggling. Clifton had one son, Jamison Layne Davis, age 3. He spent all his free time with his son and was a patient and loving father.Clifton worked as an overnight stocker at Wal-Mart. He will be missed by his son, parents, brothers, sisters, girlfriend and all his friends and relatives. He will be remembered as a kind, fun loving and generous young man. Clifton gave the gift of life by being an organ donor. Many recipients have a second chance at life because of his generosity. Clifton is survived by his mother Berlinda (Provencial) Davis, Rapid City; son Jamison Layne Davis; half-brother Royce Shillingstad, Mobridge; sister Rhamie (Davis-Provencial) Sixtos and her husband Zakarie Sixtos and their daughter Izabellah Sixtos, all of Ft. Bragg, NC; his uncle Norman Provencial, San Pedro, CA; girlfriend Michelle ‘Belle’ Thomas, Rapid City; special friends Shaylene Cordero and Jonathan Delachevrotiere Sr., and special friend and coworker, Daniel Miller, all of Rapid City and. He is also survived by his father, David Davis and step-mother Victoria (Mandan) Davis, Custer; step-sisters, Karen Beaver, Custer; Janet (Beaver) Manning and son Liam Manning, Minneapolis, MN; step-brother, John Beaver and children Tessa and Gabriel Beaver, Mandaree, ND; half-brother Daniel Davis, Custer and half-brother Dana Davis and daughter Zaidee Pallet, Rapid City. He is preceded in death by his brother Dustin Alain Davis, his uncle Melvin Miner, grandfather Cecil Provencial and grandmother Beverly (Bagola) Provencial.
