Obituary For Cole Andre
Cole James Andre, 45, Rapid City, died Sunday, November 6, 2016. Cole was born February 27th, 1971 in Rapid City, SD. He grew up in the country outside of Rapid City, and attended school in the Douglas School District, finishing high school, and earning his welding certificate in 1988. Cole was an avid soccer player for most of his younger years, his talent in that area was considered to be of an Olympic level by many of his coaches. In 1994 he was blessed with the birth of his son, Brandon Johnson. Brandon is an officer with the Rapid City Police Department today. In 1994 he met Kancie Crown, and acquired two daughters, Ashley and Jayden. They moved to Yankton, SD where he worked for Marquardt Trucking as a mechanic for many years. Kancie and Cole were married in May of 2012 in Buffalo, Wy. Family was very important to Cole and he was always fiercely loyal. He spent the last two years of his life in Rapid City.Cole was an avid outdoorsman; he loved to fish and watch the sunrise come up over the river. He was a hunter, and a fan of the Dallas Cowboys all his life. His greatest love in life was rock hunting! He spent all his spare time hunting agates in the neighboring badlands and on the prairie, often giving his agates as gifts to his friends and family. Cole was loved by everyone who knew him. He had the kindest, gentlest heart and would give the shirt off his back to someone who had a need. He always had a smile on his face and is remembered for his ever ready smile and laugh by all. He will be greatly missed every day. Cole passed away unexpectedly on November 6, 2016, surrounded by his family.Cole was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Betty (Ellis) Andre, and his sister, Robin Andre. He is survived by his sisters, Susan Hendrickson (Russ) of Gresham, Oregon, Roxanne Andre, and Rae Lynn Andre of Rapid City, and his brother Kurt Andre of Salem, SD, son, Brandon Johnson of Rapid City, daughters Ashley Crown, MT, and Jayden Burkhardt, AZ, Grandsons Leon Merlin Layher, and Edison Grey Burkhardt, AZ. He is also survived by a multitude of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and his girlfriend, Dara Robertson. He was a blessed man.
