Obituary For Conrad Perovich

Conrad "Sonny" Perovich, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on March 8th, 2024 at Monument Health in Rapid City, South Dakota. He was born on May 7th, 1944 in Midland, South Dakota to loving parents.

After proudly serving his country as a member of the United States Air Force until his honorable discharge in 1969, Sonny embarked on a career as an over-the-road truck driver based out of Alaska. His adventurous spirit led him to travel abroad and experience different cultures while behind the wheel.

In 1976, fate brought Sonny to Rapid City where he met Sandra "Sandy" Wahl and were soon to be married. Sonny's commitment to providing for his family led him to begin working at the South Dakota State Cement Plant that same year. Throughout his years there, he held various positions before retiring as a crane operator in 2009.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy, eldest son, Thomas and daughter-in-law, Cynthia who reside in Kaukauna, Wisconsin, youngest son, Travis from Rapid City, South Dakota and stepson, Larry Cordis and his wife, Shelly of Ronan, Montana.

He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren whom he adored dearly; Sonny found immense joy spending time with them whenever possible and creating lasting memories that will be treasured forever.

Beyond work and family commitments, Sonny's had a passion for scouting, and served Boy Scout Troop 1187 as Scout Master. He enjoyed nature photography and classic westerns, which provided comfort during quiet moments spent at home.

The impact left by Conrad "Sonny" Perovich is immeasurable, not only within those whose lives were touched directly but also within the community where he lived for so many years.

May we find solace knowing that though our hearts ache from loss; we are blessed by having been part of such an extraordinary life well-lived.
