Obituary For Consuelo 'Connie' Luedtke
Consuelo Luedtke, 92, Rapid City, succumbed to a long period of health issues at Rapid City Regional Hospital. She went to join our Lord and all others in her life who have gone to a greater place. Connie, as she was known by her friends, had a spark for life. She devoted herself to helping family, friends, and all who needed a helping hand. Being an Air Force wife, Connie displayed a pride for America and compassion for military personnel who served to keep the U.S.A., great and safe. Those who have known her have felt the pride she had of her Hispanic heritage. She was a proud Mexican-American born to Simon and Loreto Granado in Miami, AZ on February 21, 1924. She will be remembered for her uniqueness and individuality. Being married to retired M/Sgt. Edmund Luedtke, she became very active with the VFW, American Legion, and TREA. She was a past president for both the VFW Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary and also served as Chaplin for TREA. Connie was also a member of the Elk's DOES. She is survived by her son, Jose' H. Luedtke, Denver, CO; her daughter Romelia (Joseph) Christian, Rapid City; two granddaughters, Connie (Dan) Ostendorf and Carisa (Rob) Gerving of Rapid City. She was also very proud of her seven surviving great grandchildren, Christopher and Matthew Ostendorf, Dariyn and Ethen Englund and Imogen Christian and Paden and Serenity Gerving. She is also survived by brothers Francisco Granado and Arnueflo Granado of Pecos, TX and Oscar Granado of Big Spring, TX and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband Ret. M/Sgt. Edmund Luedtke and granddaughter Christa Englund of Rapid City; brothers Simon Granado (El Paso, TX), Rolando, and Armando Granado (Pecos, TX) Ramon Hernandez (Hobbs, NM) and her sisters Lilia Canas (Pecos, TX) and Emma Morales (Kermit, TX).
