Obituary For D. Beverly Rovere

Bev Rovere, 79, of Black Hawk, SD, died on June 11, 2011, surrounded by loved ones.D. Beverly Rovere, known as Bev to friends and family, was born on September 7, 1931 to Harry and Winifred Bruner of Sturgis, SD. She was the third of seven children. Bev attended schools in Sturgis, SD, and eventually met her sweetheart Dale Rovere and married him in 1947, a very loving relationship that lasted 64 years. They had three children: Dale Russell (Rusty), Christine (Chris), and Debra (Debbie). Bev and Dale lived in Deadwood and Winner in the early years of their marriage and eventually settled in Black Hawk in 1975. She was a doting mother whose intricately hand-sewn doll clothes will never be forgotten by her daughters. Lovingly remembered as the "cool mom," she let her kids have friends over any time and willingly put up with the noise of slumber parties. She was very dedicated to her husband and children. In addition to raising her children, Bev held a variety of jobs including working for First National Bank in Deadwood and working for a Chiropractor. She found two of her passions later in life: Graphology (handwriting analysis) and a type of alternative healing called Quantum Energetics (QE). Bev started her study of Graphology in 1980 and kept with it for several years. She went to Chicago in 1984 to receive her Masters from the International Graphoanalysis Society (IGAS), an achievement of which she was very proud. Years later, after being healed from a longstanding injury by a Quantum Energetics practitioner, she was inspired to learn the method herself and help others. She traveled back and forth to Denver for her studies and received her certificate in 1990. For the next 20 years, she dedicated herself to using QE to help others. She worked hard and often charged very little for her services--her primary goal always being to help people not to make money. She was honored at a QE conference in Colorado in 2002 for the great impact she had on the QE world by enthusiastically encouraging and supporting so many people to become QE Practitioners. Bev retired in December 2010 after helping hundreds of people, many of whom traveled from as far as WY, NE, IL, and CO. She received an honorary Doctorate of Quantum Energetics in early 2011. When not seeing clients, Bev kept current on health issues. Other interests included listening to music, reading, drawing, and painting. She loved anything red: lipstick, nail polish, shoes, clothes, couches, and Cadillacs. The love of red and other vibrant colors carried over into her house, which was always beautifully decorated with vivid colors. Loved by all, Bev will be long remembered for her generous heart, a quality that made it easy for her to spoil her grandkids rotten. "Playing Tourist" in the Black Hills was a favorite of her and her grandchildren when they were small. There is nothing she wouldn't do for her family. She was known for her homemade chicken noodles and her famous angel food birthday cake with caramel frosting. Her laughter always seemed to fill the room and she couldn't help but sing as she went about her cooking and other daily activities. She truly brought joy to those she loved.Bev was beautiful in both body and spirit. Even at the end of her life when she was ill, she was complimented on her youthful appearance. This outer beauty was most certainly a reflection of her inner beauty. No one ever wanted to imagine life without her. And though her body is gone, her spirit will live on in all of those that she touched.Preceded in death by her parents and her sisters Dorie and Jean. Survivors include her husband Dale and three children: Rusty Rovere of Rapid City, Chris Rovere of Rapid City, Debbie Rovere of Reno, NV. Surviving grandchildren: Todd Rovere of Rapid City, Amy Scherer Jerke of Columbia, MO, Michael Rovere of Rapid City, Anthony Murray of Reno, NV, Jennifer Rovere Sobota of Minneapolis, MN, and Austin Bachman of Reno, NV. Great-grandchildren include Kai and Téa Jerke, Emily and Kaylie Rovere, and Halo Murray. Surviving siblings include Evelyn Diamond of Peoria, AZ; Edith Sorenson of Chico, CA: Corrine Robinson of Casper, WY; and Bill Bruner of Murrieta, CA.
