Obituary For Daniel H. 'Boondog' Jones

Daniel Harley "Boondog" Jones, 53, Rapid City, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at the Hospice House of Rapid City after a short battle with cancer. Parents are the late Jackie Lee Jones and the late Florence Joann Jones Callahan, he was the middle child of five children. He went to school in Kankakee, Illinois, he then moved to Ohio and spent some time with his brother, and from there he moved to Arizona to spend time with his sister and later relocated to Rapid City where he spent the remainder of his life. Danny loved spending time with his family and friends especially his many nieces and nephews who he adored. Some of his other great loves in his life were fishing with family, watching the Cubs, playing the harmonica and being around people. "Boondog" was very well known for his “jokester" attitude. Daniel was a jack of all trades but his favorite jobs were doing security and bartending. Because of his outgoing and caring nature he made many many friends who will miss him dearly.Danny is survived by two boys, Clinton of Arizona and Justin of Illinois who he did not have the opportunity to spend time with as much as he would have liked, one brother Rusty ( Dianne ) Jones of Sioux Falls, SD, and three sisters Vicky Jones of Rapid City, SD, Kathy ( John ) Wade, and Sherry Brown of Kankakee, Ill. many nieces and nephews as well as many friends. Preceding him in death was his loving companion Jackie, his parents and nieces Tomieka and Halley Jones.
