Obituary For Daniel H. Walsh

Daniel H. Walsh, 50, Whitewood died Sunday Feb. 3, 2008 at home. He was born July 28, 1957 in Rapid City to John and Myrtle (Rude) Walsh, and grew up in Piedmont. He graduated from Brown High School in Sturgis. He was in the US Marine Corp for 4 years and was honorably discharged. After his discharge, he went to Aviation Mechanic School in Cheyenne, WY. He worked as an airplane mechanic until going to work for the FAA. During his eighteen years with the FAA, five were spent in Fairbanks, Alaska until coming to Rapid City. Daniel was a lifetime member of the American Legion in Piedmont, Past Commander and present District Commander. He is survived by his son, Jonathan Walsh, Mitchell; mother Myrtle Walsh, Rapid City and brother Calvin Walsh, Rapid City. He was preceded in death by his father John Walsh, Aug. 6, 2005 and 1 brother, Clinton Walsh. Daniel enjoyed socializing with his friends and family; especially with his fellow American Legionnaires.
