Obituary For Darrell L. Rempfer

RAPID CITY | Darrell Laverne Rempfer, 76, Rapid City, left this world peacefully on Friday, May 8, 2015, after a struggle with cancer, at the Fort Meade VA Medical Center.Darrell was born May 1, 1939, to Selma and Ernest Rempfer. He grew up in Rapid City, graduating from Rapid City High School in 1957. He then attended business school in Rapid City and later joined the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Carson, CO. After returning to Rapid City, Darrell assisted his parents in running Rempfer Market where he specialized in selling buffalo. An avid hunter and golfer, he enjoyed spending time with his friends at both sports.Darrell is survived by his brothers Lonnie, Vern and wife Karen and his sister, Judy Smith and numerous nieces and nephews.The family wishes to thank his caregivers, especially Angie DeNeire, without whom he could not have gotten by since his kidney transplant eight years ago.
