Obituary For David Alan Cole

David Alan Cole died January 28th, 2024, in Rapid City, SD. He was 54.

David was born on September 22nd, 1969, to James Cole and Kathleen Folden in Norwalk, CA.

He and his family moved from Norwalk to Long Beach before the family moved to Black Hawk, SD when he was 5. He then, for a short time, moved back to Long Beach before settling back in Black Hawk.

David attended General Beadle Elementary, Dakota Middle School, and Jefferson High.

In 1997, he met the woman he would spend the rest of his life with, Dania. He became a father to a son, Colton, and soon after daughters, Joely and Julia would join the family. Nothing was more important to David than his family, he loved his kids unconditionally.

He worked for Kassube Painting for many years where he honed his skills for painting and woodwork. These skills he would carry with him to his new jobs at Western Hills Painting and West River Painting.

David was a good man with a good heart. He would always lend a hand to anyone who needed it. The relationship he had with his daughters was the most important to him. The pride he had in his girls was immeasurable. The women they have grown into was his greatest achievement.

David left his mark on everyone he met. Whether it be the bad jokes he told, the exemplary work he did as an employee, or the love he gave to his family, he will forever be remembered.

He is survived by his two daughters, Joely, and Julia Cole, his significant other, Dania; his brother, Doug Cole; his sister, Shellie Maki; nieces, Jessie, and Misty Maki; and aunts, Nancy Folden and Willie Folden.

He is preceded in death by his son Colton, his mother Kathy, his father James (Jimmy) Cole and numerous aunts, uncles, and grandparents.
