Obituary For David Gruba

David A. Gruba, 78, died peacefully on December 24, 2016 at his home in Rapid City SD. David was born to Harry and Mary Gruba on March 26, 1938, in Waubay, South Dakota.In 1959, David married Mavis Jean Dolney and together they became proud parents to five children. David loved cars, whether it be driving them, working on them, or just looking at them. His passion for engines and wheels was only surpassed by his love for his family. He loved getting in the car and taking a road trip to see family or just to take a ride.David was strong, loving, giving, and caring. A great father, grandfather and role model to his family and everyone he met throughout his life. If there was someone needing help, David was there. David is preceded in death by his father Harry, mother Mary, brother Adam, sister Linda, and daughter-in-law Glenda. He is survived by his wife Mavis; children Lola (Lee) Walton of Rapid City SD, Sue (Bill) Clark of Arvada, CO, Doug of Littleton, CO, Greg of Rapid City, SD and Becky (Harold) McConkey of Rapid City SD, 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers and sisters, Harry Gruba, Marion (Carlyle) Mortenson, John Gruba, Judy (Gary) Gabur, Susan (Ken) Harty , Chuck (Nancy) Gruba, Larry (Cindy) Gruba, Deb Haas, and Terry (Alan) Sobin and several nieces and nephews.
