Obituary For Dean Larsen

Dean Larsen, 80, Reliance, died Friday Sept 27, 2013 at Sanford Care Center Chamberlain. He was born on Dec 3, 1932 at home near Hamill, SD to Albert and Onalee (House) Larsen. The family later moved to the family farm south of Reliance. Dean married Gertie Moon in Chamberlain on May 10, 1952. They lived on the farm where they raised their three children. Dean spent the majority of his life farming and raising livestock, but first and foremost he was a family man. He enjoyed collecting John Deere tractors, hunting and visiting with family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Dean is survived by his daughter Betty Jo (Rick) Simpson, Rapid City; his son Ronnie Larsen, Chamberlain; 4 grandchildren, Roxanne Pritzkau, Rapid City; Ryan (Breezy) Simpson, Black Hawk; Casey (Star) Miller, Marysville, WA and Brady (Jeanette) Miller, Japan; 6 great grandchildren, Skyler, Hunter, Austin, Mikayla, Dylan and Travis; 3 sisters, Marian (Woody) Truman, Canton; Alta (Frank) Cable, Chamberlain and Mavis (Richard) Hansen, Reliance; 2 aunts, Helen Hieb and Margaret Gromer and numerous nieces nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife Gertie and his daughter Loretta Miller.
