Obituary For Della Cunningham

Della Henderson Cunningham passed away at her home on March 6, 2013 from cancer. She was born August 5, 1931 to Winifred and Merrit Henderson. Della obtained her teaching degree in Spearfish, SD. She taught in a country school in Upton, WY. She married her best friend, Don Cunningham in 1951 and spent time in Florida while Don was stationed in the US Air Force. Her love of making jewelry from tiny seashells and selling them to shops satisfied her creative urges. Upon returning to SD, Della’s love of family and music was seen in the formation of the Don Cunningham Family band (with all 5 family members). Having shared her life are daughter Donna Kocer and husband Steve; son Doug and his wife Carol; daughter Darlene Goehring; 5 grandchildren, Lori Skinner and husband Jeff; Kim VanNelson and husband Matt; Dusty Goehring, Jamie Goehring and fiancé Luna Hanson and Nick Cunningham; 4 great grandchildren, Allie Skinner, Claire Skinner, Grayson VanNelson and Zachary VanNelson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, July 10, 2012; sister and brother-in-law, a nephew and niece. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society.Condolences may be conveyed to the family at www.behrenswilson.com
