Obituary For Delores G. Gross
Delores Grace Gross, 82, Rapid City, died Thursday July 12, 2012 at home. She was born April 12, 1930 in Sisseton, SD to Frank and Ruth (Christensen) Schmaus. She attended Sisseton schools and the majority of her life was spent in SD.Delores married Lyle K. Gross on August 20, 1946 in Wheaton, MN. She worked as a nurse’s aide and cook at Black Hills Retirement Center for nine years retiring in 1995. Following her husband’s death, February 26, 1990, she lived with her son in Olympia, WA for 3 years.Delores loved her church and her church family. She was involved in her church circle and volunteered much time to the church. She is survived by her daughter, Corrine (Michael) Barnhardt, Rapid City 3 sons, Lyle K. (Linda) Gross, Jr, Michigan; Frank Grace) Gross, Florida and Leslie (Monica) Gross, Germany; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and 2 sisters, Joan Brown and Diane Minerich, both of Washington.She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Calvin Gross, 3 daughters, Doris Ann and Doreen Gross, Lilia Potter, a grandson in infancy, a brother Lavern Schmaus and sister, Molly George.
