Obituary For Donald E Cunningham

Donald E. Cunningham, 83, Rapid City, died Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at his home. He was born July 6, 1929 in Lead, SD to Fred and Grace (Beach) Cunningham. He graduated from Rapid City High School and later entered the US Air Force Aug. 25, 1950 and was honorably discharged Aug. 21, 1954. Donald worked as an auto body repairman for 15 years and was a real estate agent for 22 years. He loved restoring classic cars and Studebakers were his favorite. He enjoyed being a member and past president of the Rapid City Studebaker Club. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a lifetime member of the Rushmore VFW Post #1273. Donald’s love of life was his wife of 60 years and his family. His love of music was the foundation of his family band which performed locally. The family request in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Donald’s memory. He is survived by his wife, Della; his son, Doug (Carol) Cunningham, all of Rapid City; 2 daughters, Donna (Steven) Kocer, Chamberlain and Darlene Goehring, Rapid City; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and his sister Dolores (David) Pengra, Katy, TX.
