Obituary For Dora Seegrist
Dora (Cornick) Seegrist passed away at 1:45am at the age of 101 years old on Monday the 7th of January 2011 with her daughter Mary at her bedside. She was a resident at Golden Living of the Black Hills. Dora was born to Julia Detrick Harvey and George Harvey August 9, 1909 in Platte, SD. Dora married Ray Cornick in Midland, SD August 31, 1927, later moving to Philip, SD where they raised two girls Lorraine & Mary. In 1942 they moved to Rapid City, SD where they were both employed at Buckingham Transportation until retiring. Ray passed away on November 9, 1971 from cancer at the age of 71. Dora remarried Elwin Seegrist on May 17, 1976. He preceded her in death from cancer March 21, 1979. Her daughter Lorraine (Ball) Creasman also preceded her in death. Dora is survived by 1 daughter Mary McGriff & husband James of Box Elder, SD, 4 grandchildren, Jim McGriff “Her Buddy” (Nila) of Rapid City, Tim (Kim) McGriff of Rapid City, Russell (Sharron) Ball of Colorado, Cindy (Brad) Hamilton of Colorado; 12 great grandchildren & 10 great-great grandchildren. She will be missed greatly!
