Obituary For Dorothy Luers
Dorothy Luers, 91, died April 18, 2017, at her home in Hot Springs after suffering a stroke on Feb. 22.Dorothy was born May 30, 1925, to Elizabeth Marschall and Henry Klein in Chanhassen, MN. She graduated from Chaska High School in 1943 and married Gilbert Charles Luers in Mound, MN, in 1947. They raised four daughters in Omaha, NE.In 1993, Dot and Gil found acreage near the Black Hills National Forest in South Dakota and the family helped build them a small summer home that became their year-round residence in 1995.On July 7, 2007, the Alabaugh Canyon wildfire destroyed their home and they then moved into Hot Springs. Gil died 11 months later and Dot has wanted to join him in Heaven ever since.Dot is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Dave and Jan Klein, Casa Grande, AZ.; sister-in-law, MaryAnn Klein, Pequot Lakes, MN; daughters and sons-in-law, Marsha and George Moon, Omaha, NE., Monica and Bill Hickman, Omaha, NE, Madonna Luers and Woody Myers, Spokane, WA, and Diana and Larry Bader, Hot Springs; eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
