Obituary For Duska Wilcox

Duska Wilcox, 62, Rapid City, died Saturday, December 22,2007 at the Hospice House of the Black Hills. She was born on July 5, 1945 to Max and Ruth Mortimer of Hitchcock, SD. She was raised in Rapid City, graduating from Central High School. She then attended 2 years of beauty school, which became her trade for the next 25 years. In 1964, she married her lifelong partner and love, Gary Wilcox of Rapid City. For the next 20 years she focused on raising their two sons. A wonderful, devoted mother, she was her sons’ number one cheerleader in both sports and life. For the past 15 years, she was a dedicated employee of Rapid City Regional Hospital Environmental Services Dept. She loved antiques, particularly gravy boats, totaling 100+ in her collection. Most recently, she spent her time spoiling her grandsons. She has been described as having quiet strength, patience and a gentle nature. Her family was her pride and joy. She will continue to live in their memories as a kind and soft-hearted soul. Grateful to have shared in her life are her survivors: devoted husband, Gary Wilcox; loving sons, Tyler Wilcox of Rapid City and Scott Wilcox of Fargo, ND; and treasured grandsons, Tanner and Trevor. Honored to be accepted into the family are daughter-in-laws Tan Wilcox and LeAnne Wilcox.
