Earl John Stant, Jr.
4/27/1954 - 2/9/2016
Obituary For Earl John Stant, Jr.
Earl “Buck” Stant was born on April 27, 1954 in Chester, PA to Catherine and Earl Stant Sr. He returned to the heavens to meet his parents and brother Bobby once again on February 9, 2016 after being diagnosed with terminal cancer in October of 2015. He is survived by his daughter Marissa Stant of Rapid City, SD, his son Chuck (Jolene) Freeman of Blackhawk, SD; his 3 grandchildren Isabella, Thomas, and Elizabeth. Also his sisters Margie (Ron) DeStefano, Kathy Stant, Theresa Donnelly, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nephews, and many more extended family from the East Coast. From an early age, Buck loved the outdoors which included hunting, fishing, boating, hiking, and anything that had to do with being surrounded by nature. He also was an outstanding NASCAR fan. He was absolutely heartbroken when Dale Earnhardt Sr. passed away but always remained a loyal fan. One of his greatest joys in life included being around his grandchildren and adventuring in the hills. He taught them everything he knew about the outdoors, and it brought him great pleasure to pass on his knowledge of the world to them. For most of Buck’s life, he worked in the construction field including many places such as New Jersey, Florida, and South Dakota. He was last employed by Site Work Specialists and was known as “Pops” on the jobsite. He loved to educate other employees about operating the heavy machinery on the jobsite. Everyone who worked with him had much love towards him that will never fade. Everyone who knew Buck loved him whole-heartedly because he had a heart made of gold. No matter of the difficulties occurring in his life, he was always there to help others overcome what trials life has thrown at them. He was a loyal friend, amazing grandfather, and the best dad someone could ever ask for. He will be missed dearly but will live on forever in our hearts and memories.
